Other working arrangements include “Documentation for Critical Tasks” (the team projects them during planning, where applicable) and “identify dependencies” (to identify dependencies at an early stage and document on tickets, either at meetings in advance or when planning meetings). There are a few work agreements that are specifically for our team and have worked really well: “Don`t engage in unknown stories” and “Consult the JIRA board every day and focus on each day.” As we are a distributed team, we have a stand-up in the afternoon, when the UK land team is in its office. The team came to this agreement to check the board of directors in the morning and communicate what they are going to work on. It worked wonders; There is a lot of communication in this meeting and I see teamwork in sprint management. At the beginning, you encourage discussion within the team and allow everyone to propose, agree and reject any agreement. Note that you can`t get people to change their emotions, but you can focus on (opposable) behaviors. Let`s start with the definition: work agreements are standards or guidelines developed by a team to improve their interactions for superior performance and create a common language.
